Stock exchange ‘has got too commercial’
Stockbroker Eric Nixon is quitting the London Stock Exchange claiming that it has all got too commercial. ‘The City of London used to be a lovely place full of people in bowler hats buying and selling shares for the love of it.’ said Eric, 59. ‘Now it’s only about balance sheets and profit. All they are interested in is just money, money, money.’
A spokesman for the brokers who previously employed Mr Nixon said ‘We are sorry Eric feels that way. As it happens we just fired him for losing us millions of pounds.’
