Stalker fears that it’s all over
Former security guard Gerald Williams, who has been in a stalking relationship with Susan Meadows for the last four years now fears the relationship may be ‘stuck in a rut’. Unemployed Williams first saw twenty-five year old Susan queuing for the cash machine just after dusk, and said that ‘it was definitely love at first sight.’
However, in recent months Williams, 39, has realised that the relationship has slipped into a routine and that both parties are ‘taking each other too much for granted’.
‘What used to be an exciting wait, lurking 100 feet down from the bus stop each morning, with both of us nervously looking around pretending not to notice, has descended into both of us getting onto the same bus, sometimes even chatting and laughing and experiencing brief physical contact. It made a mockery of everything I set out to do and I couldn’t help feeling that I was living a lie.’
Things have got so bad that Ms Meadows, a Fitness First receptionist, has even suggested that they go for a coffee sometime. Williams says it’s left him feeling a worthless failure. I tried ringing her up at night and immediately hanging up. But then she’d just ring me straight back and want to chat. Then I reminded myself that I’m still young and creepy, and there are plenty of other jittery females out there who won’t come anywhere near me. Breaking up will be hard on Susan but I think we both know it’s for the best.’
