Manchester United to produce puppies in team colours

The marketing department of Premier league giants Manchester Utd have announced they are to have puppies breed in their team colours in an attempt to attract supporters at a younger age. ‘We considered many options but our market research confirmed that everyone loves puppies,’ said Mark Stanion senior marketing manager at the club. ‘With advances in genetics we can apparently have them in any colour and size we like.’
The idea, Manchester United have revealed, is that children can attend home matches with an adult and their little companion could be waved frantically over their heads when a goal is scored. But the RSPCA were critical of the latest developments in football-related puppy genetics. ‘Dogs should not be bred as novelty accessories and especially not in team colours of bloody Man United,’ said Tony Balkin, RSPCA welfare officer and Man City fan.

But the Premiership side was unrepentant ‘The beauty of offering puppies in team colours is the add-ons that go with them, leads, food bowl, pooper-scoopers the marketing potential is endless. Children love them and they’ll add a cute and adorable feel to Old Trafford that you just don’t get from looking at Rio Ferdinand‘ said Mark Stanion. ‘We are hoping to breed dogs in our away colours as well, though this will of course mean people getting new puppies every season as the away kit changes.’
