L’Oreal admit fat woman from Barnsley actually ‘not worth it’

L’Oreal has added a disclaimer to its famous advertising campaign slogan ‘You’re worth it’ after coming to the conclusion that one particular woman from Yorkshire definitely wasn’t.

Ms Shelia Crabb, 47, a divorced, unemployed and clinically obese former bar worker was said to be upset and offended that the world’s largest cosmetics company had singled her out as the only person on the planet who would be wasting their money paying that little bit extra for their beauty products; ‘We were like, sitting around as a family, eating pizza and chips in front of the telly, and the mascara advert says ‘Because you’re worth it’ and then Penelope Cruz suddenly adds – ‘Oh – except you Shelia Crabb of 27 Station Road, Barnsley, England. It was very embarrassing.’

L’Oreal have defended their decision to amend all their posters, shop displays and television commercials to include the footnote ‘except you Sheila Crabb’. ‘We have been under increasing pressure from the Advertising Standards Council to be honest and accountable and frankly the idea that Mrs Crabb was worth it simply would not stand up in court.

A neighbour of Mrs Crabb said the twenty stone heavy smoker did once get some Eau de Toilette for Christmas. ‘But the stupid cow thought it was for cleaning the bog. I know it may sound harsh, but L’Oreal do sort of have a point.’
