Bright-eyed enthusiasm of work experience girl crushed
<!–[endif]–>Samantha O’Malley, a 15-year-old schoolgirl, was reported to have had her idealistic visions of future gainful employment completely destroyed on her first morning on work experience placement with the Human Resources and the Payroll departments of Hendersons’ Plumbing & Electrical Supplies, Woking.
O’Malley’s career expectations were crushed after spending two hours painstakingly compiling and photocopying a formal tea-making rota, before then shredding all copies due to an inter-office feud over who was to buy biscuits. She was later seen silently weeping to herself on the steps outside the rear fire exit during lunch break, before being consoled and accepting a cigarette from the congregating smokers, and taking advice on how best to call in sick the following morning.Click to send this story to a friend
