An innocent black Samsonite briefcase has spoken out after being detained without charge by British Transport Police under anti-terrorism laws. The bag was situated on the concourse of Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2 at around 10am, and by 10:15 the item was surrounded by police and sniffer dogs.
Refusing to talk, the suitcase was taken briskly to a secure unit for further interrogation. After 8hrs in a darkened room, an officer threatened the luggage and suggested that it might be destroyed. It was eventually reunited with its owner Mr. Marc Edwards who was told in no uncertain terms that he should never forget his belongings. Mr Edwards tried to explain the oxymoron of remembering not to forget something but was then charged under the government’s new anti-pedantry laws.
