Agnostics undecided on launching publicity campaign
Following poster campaigns on buses by atheists and Christians, the Agnostic Society is having trouble coming to a decision whether or not to run its own campaign. Having agreed on the slogan ‘God may or may not exist so go and enjoy your life … but not too much, just in case’, the Society has been stalled by what it calls ‘insufficient and inconclusive’ evidence about the effectiveness of advertising.
‘If we’re honest, we don’t really believe in this sort of campaign,’ said a spokesman, ‘but we wouldn’t want to go so far as to rule it out completely. I mean it could work, I suppose.’ A poll of members took the Society no closer to a decision as 99% of members answered ‘Don’t know’.
