Scientists solve problem of mislaid mobile phones with new ‘landlines’

A team of scientists say they have finally found a solution to the age-old problem of the mislaid mobile phone. The new device has been dubbed the ‘landline’, due to its association of telephonic capability with fixed geographical areas of terrain.’

‘It’s like having a telephone in your own home’ enthused Don Fielding, head of research and development for Motorolla ‘except that it’s impossible to lose, as it’s attached by this underground network of wires, see. Like electricity. Or sewage.’

‘Just think; now there’ll be no need to worry where your mobile phone is when you need to call your wife and say that you’ve been locked out. Now all you need to do is … oh, hang on …’
