Speed camera outside of school ‘just licence to print money’
Motorists are fuming at the positioning of a new traffic speed camera just 100m from a junior school in Waltham Forest. ‘I’ve been using this route for 15 years now to avoid the speed bumps on the high street. Now I’ve been indiscriminately fined for doing 60 in a 30 zone,’ complained Local van driver Frank Watson, ‘It’s just another form of tax on the hard-working public’.
The school camera is just one of a series of speed traps that have been the subject of drivers’ ire, with a new device on the road to a local Sainsbury’s prompting hundreds of complaints that the warning signs had been ‘sneakily hidden behind bouquets of flowers attached to a lamp-post for some reason’.
