Brown may do something ‘vaguely socialist’ fear
Downing Street insiders fear Gordon Brown may do something vaguely public spirited before leaving office, after over a decade of second guessing what Daily Mail readers might think of him.
Advisors have begged him not to do anything that will displease Rupert Murdoch, city Hedge Fund managers or the finance director of Tesco.
However Brown has become obsessed with his ‘legacy’ and feels for some reason he should do something for the people who didn’t vote him in to power.
‘Government isn’t all about sucking up to big business, doing George Bush’s dirty work and hob-nobbing with game show contestants,’ said a focus group, on behalf of the prime minister.
Rumours that Brown may ask big businesses, like Tesco, to review their tax contribution, have not been confirmed however.
