A pensioner has shocked her local community by buying lottery tickets several days in advance on a quiet Monday afternoon.
‘My friends and I normally buy our tickets five minutes before the deadline on Saturday nights to chat to all those lovely people who’ve just nipped in for a bottle of wine and some fags,’ explained Margaret Harris, 72. ‘I often notice the lottery machine just sat there during the week, but I thought that dishy Nick Knowles had to turn it on. Lucky machine.’
But the daring change is not without risk. ‘I do worry that breaking my routine like this will affect my luck. I thought about sacrificing a goat and beseeching Moloch to look down favourably upon me, but I’ll probably just carry on using my lucky pen.’
