Queen decides to ‘pull the plug’ on Parliament after next term
Her Majesty the Queen has decided that the concept of a UK Government made up of popularly elected public representatives has ‘run it’s course’ and will not be opening Parliament after the next term of office.
The move comes after a huge fall in MP approval ratings over recent years and drastically reduced turnouts at the poll. The government, which over the years has launched the careers of such celebrated people as Sir Winston Churchill, Lady Thatcher and ‘Nasty’ Lord Mandelson will get one more outing in 2010, with desperate electioneering for new house members expected to begin shortly after Christmas.
