Councils launch gym equipment amnesty
A new scheme to help fat people get unused rowing machines, abdominizors and cycling machines out of their spare rooms without ridicule has been given a cautious welcome.
‘The idea is simple,’ explained Obesity Czar Diane Jones. ‘We have set up centres all over the country, manned by specially-trained staff who will receive the equipment without smirking, looking the person up and down in that knowing way, or making comments about how the machinery is very dusty, or must clearly be faulty.
The equipment will then be exported overseas, as soon as the government finds someone fit enough to lift the stuff into the vans.Click to send this story to a friend
