Fairground worker distraught as father fails to hoop £20 note

Mark Granger recommended fairground stallholder Sean Reilly for a Heart of Britain award for his unswerving support in the father of four’s continued efforts to hoop a twenty pound note taped to a wooden block.

‘I was all for quitting,’ Mark explained, ‘but Reilly was so supportive and really behind me all the way. He kept on saying ‘you’re so close mate, don’t give up now, you can do it’.’

Eventually, after Granger emptied his wallet on nearly one hundred attempts at the ‘pound for three throws’ challenge, it became obvious to a distraught Reilly that his new friend might not have what it takes to win the £20 prize. But even then, big-hearted to the end, he refused to let the despondent father leave without a heartfelt pat on the back and a consolation keyring.
