Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire has made the decision to become its own twin-town after over 20 years trying to find a sister town with no joy.
‘We’re a lovely little town, but everyone we’ve approached to twin with has said we’re just too dull.’ Mayor Richard Jones said. ‘If I’m honest, there’s very little in Tenbury Wells that anyone would like.’
Preparations are now well under way in the town. ‘We’ve arranged fact finding trips from one end of the town to the other, cultural exchanges between the Jones’ in Church Walk and the Matthews’ on Boraston Lane and a display of local cultural crafts’ said the Mayor ‘although I had to warn Doris Hargreaves that her ‘amusing’ corn dollies weren’t welcome.’
