YouTube Turns Down Second Season of Joey

Joey‘Friends’ spin off ‘Joey’ has hit another stumbling block in its efforts to attract potential broadcasters after it was repeatedly refused broadcasting space on video-sharing website YouTube.

The show, starring Matt Le Blanc, showed early promise with audiences of the first season starting at four million but these dropped to under 500,000 after Episode 4 and then fell to just 12 after NBC moved its slot to 2.45 am on Tuesdays.

NBC have shown no interest in airing the second season but Le Blanc has financed, filmed and edited the 36-episode new series in anticipation that the show would find a network sooner or later.

‘It has been a bit of a set back’ Le Blanc explained, ‘but after HBO, Fox, S4C and Al-Jazeera 2 told us ‘thanks, but no thanks’ I truly believed that we could find a suitable outlet online. Sadly whenever I try and upload the shows in two minute sections, they are removed by moderators within seconds and so we have had to finally admit that the dream may be over.’

Le Blanc’s disappointment was not made any easier by television executives regularly showing him the ratings graph and saying ‘How YOU doin’?’
