Town planners reject New Jerusalem plans
Sheffield City Council has rejected a proposal to build Jerusalem on designated Green Belt land after a stormy planning meeting last week. Opposing the scheme, Cllr Chas Parry remarked on the lack of affordable housing in the plan and was alarmed by the artist’s impression which appeared to feature an array of dangerous weaponry including arrows and swords, some of which might find their way into the criminal community.
The planning committee concluded that the proposal’s Assessment was inadequate as it did not include appropriate control measures for the proposed burning of precious metals, taking into account the prevalent weather conditions of cloudiness in the area.
