Scandal of baby forced to sleep in box plasma TV came in

A six-month-old baby who had to sleep in the box the family’s 36inch plasma TV came in was last night in the care of Hackney Social Services.

The baby boy – who for legal reasons can only be identified as Samsung – is said to be doing well.

‘Baby Samsung was switched from his family to social services last night,’ said spokeswoman Mel Matsui for Hackney. ‘The switchover was without incident.’

It is understood that Samsung’s parents, who are Swedish, slept in IKEA flat pack boxes and a teenage son -who for legal reasons can only be identified as Zanussi – slept in packaging from a 5.5.cu.ft larder fridge.

‘It’s a scandal that Baby Samsung had to endure such treatment,’ said Ms Matsui. ‘An animal shouldn’t be kept in such conditions- in fact, the family’s pet hamster Apple slept in a very comfortable 64GB iPod touch box.’

Ms Matsui added:

‘Baby Samsung is now doing well in our care and is at this very moment fast asleep in the box our director’s state-of-the-art flat screen 42inch LCD TV came in.’
