Woman returns husband to M&S as ‘not fit for purpose’
A woman who found her husband in Marks & Spencer has returned him to the store under its refund or exchange guarantee.
Mavis Adams, 49, from Luton, had met husband-to-be Bert in her local M&S while buying a shepherd’s pie ready meal for one, and marriage was on the cards soon after he proposed a ready meal for two instead.
However, once Mavis got her new husband home she discovered he didn’t fit properly and soon started to unravel, prompting her decision to take him back to the shop as not fit for purpose.
‘Although I didn’t have a receipt, they were very nice about it’ said Mrs Adams, ‘The girl suggested I look round the aisles for a replacement, but I couldn’t see anything I fancied that afternoon so I settled for a year’s supply of ready meal shepherd’s pie for one and a credit note.’Click to send this story to a friend
