Tabloids launch search for ‘Mrs D from Rotherham’
Britain’s tabloids have launched a search to locate a ‘Mrs D from Rotherham’ who, according to a message flashed-up on the National Lottery website, had just won two pounds on an instant-win game.
The prize, the largest ever to be won in an online game, has captivated the public’s imagination. ‘If I won two pounds I’d probably spend it on another ticket’ said a Mr Rockerfeller from New York ‘But since such riches are beyond my wildest dreams I’ll never get the chance.’
The two pound prize, which eclipses the one pound won by a Mr R from Dundee in 2006, is predicted by some financial analysts to have the potential to de-stabilise the UK economy, or at least be enough to get her a hazelnut latte from Starbucks in Leeds.
