UN calls for New Year truce in thermostat conflict
UN Chief Ban ki-Moon called for a New Year ceasefire at 65 Acre Lane, Carshalton, where the marital conflict between Mr and Mrs Seymour over the ideal temperature for their central heating system has been escalating.
It was hoped that a truce would trigger talks on the sensitive subjects of the right to wear stringy tops in January, and whether gloves should be solely be seen as outdoor wear. However, events reached crisis point on New Year’s Eve when Mr Seymour was found shivering in the airing cupboard with his coat on after a defiant trip to the shops in shorts and T-shirt.
This morning Mrs Seymour announced she would be pursuing a ‘two-state solution’, though she did offer her husband the opportunity to accept that any inadequacy in their marital relations was most likely the result of his natural biological reaction to the extreme cold.Click to send this story to a friend
