BBC makes emergency plea for more pictures of snow
The BBC has launched an emergency appeal to ensure it maintains adequate images of snow during the Big Freeze.
‘Please send whatever pictures you can,’ said newswoman, Sharon Grayson. ‘A lot of people out there have no idea what snow actually looks like.’
BBC News currently has 150 reporters scattered around the country, standing live in the snow, reporting on the snow, some of them already up to their necks in snow. ‘But our stocks are already dwindling – especially shots of cars driving in snow,’ said director general Mark Thompson. ‘Please send in whatever you can spare.
‘Please, please only travel if your journey is absolutely necessary,’ said Thompson in a final plea. ‘For example, if you are going out to take some pictures of snow.’
