Stuart Broad accuses South Africans of ball tampering with large wooden bat
England cricketer Stuart Broad has dismissed claims that he tampered with the ball in the third test against South Africa and has turned the allegations back on the host team.
‘Their batters abused the ball far more than I’m supposed to have done,’ said the English bowler. ‘I’ve seen loads of them keep on hitting the bloody thing with a big piece of wood and crashing it into the boundary boards. How sportsmanlike is that?’
But South Africa captain Graeme Smith says Broad must shoulder the blame.
‘If he can’t get us out even after tearing great chunks in the leather, he must be as crap as we first thought.’
