Woman doesn’t freeze to death in house
An elderly woman is reported to have survived ten days of continuous sub-zero temperatures in her own home on a rough council estate in Liverpool. Concerned neighbours, who gained entry when the weather had improved, were amazed.
‘We thought she’d have frozen solid in the first three days,’ sniffed a witness. “The path to her house was snowed up, the steps to her door were covered in ice, and I could see from my upstairs window that there was ice all over the inside.’
The woman claims to have been told she is ineligible for benefits adding that she is determined to survive the unexpectedly severe winter in order to spite the local authorities and the Daily Mail.
