Police advised to watch CCTV footage in pairs

After an unfortunate incident, in which a police CCTV operator was left on his own for ten minutes while watching a shopping precinct, the Metropolitan Police has made new recommendations that will require them to watch footage only in pairs.

‘We’re asking young men to exert a huge amount of self restraint in watching crowds of shoppers on their own,’ said a press officer.  ‘We’re simply offering them some back-up.’

Many cops claim that they miss incidents when forced to take unscheduled trips to the gents. Some of the equipment they have to work with is in shocking condition, added the spokesman.  ‘When the money comes through, the first thing many will do is splash out on a new keyboard.’
