BBC launch ‘Boring railway journeys of the UK’
With Spring fast approaching, the BBC has announced a new series intended to capture the imagination of middle aged men. The new series ‘Boring railway journeys of the UK’ features John Craven as he undertakes some of the dullest journeys ever filmed.’
‘I’m moderately excited about it’ said Craven who is reported to have bought a new jumper for the series ‘It starts off in Birmingham New Street on the 7.45 to Bromsgrove changing at Edgbaston arriving in Bromsgrove at 9.47, at least if it’s on time!’ quipped Craven.
‘The next week it’s action stations again as we tackle Grimsby to Redcar via Northallerton, but to spice the journey up a little I pretend to have forgotton my flask and have to buy a cup of tea from the station buffet. Some of the embankments on this journey are amongst the deepest in Britain and I’m so much looking forward to witnessing them for myself.’
Other journeys planned for the series include Thurrock to Chelmsford and Dumfermiline to Carlisle. Craven would not be drawn on any of the exciting activities planned for the journey but refused to deny the rumour that the BBC has bought a new set of dominoes.Click to send this story to a friend
