Leaves warned to ‘stay out of rail dispute’
Network Rail today warned all trees not to get involved in any strike action by the RMT union, threatening legal action if they joined the dispute.
‘We would like to remind all trees that secondary picketing is illegal,’ said a Network Rail spokesman. ‘We are aware that leaves have a history of rail disruption on pretty much an annual basis, and we urge them not to get involved in the current dispute, no matter how much they oppose our plans on pay and job cuts.’
Although trees have so far declined to get involved, Network Rail has voiced its disappointment that in some parts of the country snow has seen fit to wade into the dispute.
