The consortium of news and press editors has admitted that so far they have probably not provided enough coverage of the UK election. Following a closed session to discuss the matter, a spokesperson announced that the unanimous decision that they would forthwith dramatically increase their coverage of this important event.
“It only happens once every five years and impacts everybody’s lives in a big way and thus deserves a lot more coverage in terms of column inches and allocated TV time,” he explained.
The BBC is considering increasing the broadcast hours on their News 24 channel to accommodate additional coverage. However, in the interests of public decency, it has decreed that Lord Mandleson will no longer be a “reportable event”.
