Brown to take ‘full responsibility for blaming someone else’ if Labour loses election
Prime Minister Gordon Brown acknowledged today that as the leader of the Labour party, he must take full responsibility for finding someone to blame if his party loses the forthcoming election.
‘Of course, I won’t blame anyone until it’s certain we’ve lost,’ he said. ‘But I’ll tell you, it’s not looking good for Mandelson, Hain or that Duffy woman.’
Mr Brown went on to reveal that he had already compiled a long-list of those who may be responsible for his failure, but was then caught off mic asking an advisor if it was worth ‘trying to pin it on all those Eastern Europeans flocking here’. Aides have pencilled in an apology tour to begin on Friday when he is likely to have some spare time.
