Michael Sheen saves Diff’rent Strokes

Michael Sheen has stepped in to take the character of Arnold Jackson,  saving the movie production of Diff’rent Strokes after the recent death of Gary Coleman, star of the TV series.

Sheen, who has played characters as diverse as Tony Blair, Kenneth Williams, Brian Clough and David Frost,  has set aside time from his current project, in which he plays the lead role in the life and times of Emmeline Pankhurst, to work on the movie.

‘With this part I have the opportunity to stretch myself physically and vocally,’ Sheen said. ‘It’s no good coming out with ‘What YOU talkin’ about Willis?’, when it should quite clearly be ‘WHAT you talkin’ about Willis?’ The former would be quite ridiculous and frankly, totally unbelieveable.’

A disappointed Shaun Wright-Phillips commented: ‘I should’ve got the part. I look right for it and I’m not busy at the moment.’
