Silverstone unveils plans for drive-through Burger King
Bernie Ecclestone has risked the wrath of the Formula 1 faithful by announcing plans for a fast-food restaurant to be built on the circuit at the home of British motor racing.
‘Drivers can take a pit-stop if they need tyres or fuel,’ said Ecclestone, ‘but what if they get peckish? Burger King will provide drivers with a reasonably-priced eating option during the race, and because their burgers are heated up days in advance, there won’t be long waits for service.’
However, fans were angered to learn that there are also plans for a Wetherspoons pub to be built by the chicane. ‘You need a pub because people only visit Burger King after a drink,’ said a spokesman. ‘Plus a boozer will give the drivers a chance to stop and maybe watch a more interesting sport on the big screen.’
