A mere 7 months into the current decade, Channel 4 bosses have warned that we are ‘only months away’ from the first nostalgic list shows looking at the period that ended barely half a year ago hitting our screens.
Channel 4 were quick to point out that these shows were not to be confused with the review-of-the-decade shows they ran at the end of 2009.
Executives have announced that they have signed noughties comic Michael McIntyre to host the series of shows, and they believe his ‘wry observations’ between clips will add an authentic noughties sheen to the proceedings.
‘You should hear him go off about stuff like USB flash drives’ chuckled producer Kate Soward. ‘Why were they called flash drives?’ McIntyre is also thought to riff at length about Crocs, paninis and sprinter Usain Bolt.
The series will kick off in October with a look back at the ‘50 best list shows of the noughties’ as voted for by the British public.
