Sighting of David Bellamy eases fears of extinction
There was a boost for conservationists last night as David Bellamy, a species many thought had died out, was once again spotted in his natural habitat as he appeared in a television advert alongside the famous Churchill dog.
‘It’s not clear whether the lone naturalist was actively seeking the limelight, or if he was disturbed while rummaging through the undergrowth,’ said one observer. ‘Either way, it’s really renewed our hopes of finding other endangered presenters such as Terry Nutkins and Tony Sopher.’
Although Bellamy is thought to be safe from TV exceutives hunting him, conservationists say his long-term prospects are bleak after they failed to persuade Michaela Strachan to mate with him.
