Disgruntled Lib Dems split to form ‘None of the Above’ Party

A band of Liberal Democrat MPs has today put the coalition into doubt by rebelling against the notion of their party having any kind of executive authority.

‘Our constituents didn’t put us into office to wield power, have coherent policies or be answerable for our thoughts or actions,’ Simon Hughes MP told reporters. ‘No, our supporters voted for us only to express their disgust at the other parties, and because they were too gutless to spoil their ballots. We see it as our proper role to serve these unprincipled malcontents.’

Members of the newly-formed ‘None of the Above’ party say the thing they are looking forward to most is having no responsibilities again. ‘So in many ways, being in coalition has been the ideal preparation.’
