Royal photographer Mario Testino has roundly condemned photographs issued by the Metropolitan Police of people attacking Prince Charles’s car during December’s student protests.
The noted fashion photographer, who took the gorgeous engagement pictures of Kate Middleton and Prince William, said the royal footage was ‘of unacceptable poor quality for pics of people very close to Camilla and Prince Charles.’
But Mr Testino conceded that the press photograph of ‘Camilla being poked with a stick, dramatically caught her terror and brilliantly illuminated Charles’s bald pate.’
Mr Testino said he hoped that the assailants would one day sit for him. ‘My stuff is superior to any police mug shot,’ the royal photographer snapped.
