Following harsh criticism of energy providers’ obscure pricing policies British Gas are introducing a new simplified system based on Dan Brown’s best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code.
Leading cryptographers have helped design the new system, and customers will be able to work out how much they are paying per unit by travelling around Staines solving a series of clues which will eventually bring them right back to where they started.
A quarterly ‘lead’ is sent to customers to get them started, which will point them to a series of further clues, hints and innuendo. To enhance the experience bills will be printed on parchment scrolls in muddy brown ink in a mixture of Greek and Hebrew.
‘Customers can now have fun solving puzzles and collecting keys while being chased by aggressive looking members of the clergy as they work out what their energy bills actually mean’ said a spokesperson.
