British man breaks world record for time taken to get off a retail park
Brian Harris, 44, was said to be ‘overjoyed’ today when it was confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records that he had smashed all known records for length of time spent circumnavigating a retail park.
After completing his shopping at 14:45 on Saturday, he eventually got out of Bicester Village Outlet Park at 19:22 that evening, surpassing the previous record by 61 minutes.
‘We knew it would be busy, what with shops closing on Easter Sunday, but wow, what a buzz,’ said Mr Harris. ‘After all the winter training in Sainsbury’s car park at Christmas and New Years Eves, and the spring market runs around Ostend, I knew we were in great shape. But to smash that record is just unbelievable.
‘As for Easter Monday? We are on the 2011 M25 Orbital Crawl. 125 miles. Now that’s endurance.’
