Hackers winning cyber war after finding list of believable names
The US Military has warned that cyber phishing scams are becoming ever-more sophisticated with some attackers even sending emails from people with believable, western names.
‘Our software can normally filter out fake names,’ said Lt. Major Brad Cunningham of 1st Firewall Division. ‘An email from a ‘Yoyo Delite-Horse2′ might be easy to spot, but can anyone say with any certainty whether ‘Brian Sponge Fingerr’ is a real person? For the record, we now know he’s not, and we regret sending ‘Brian’ a sample F-16 fighter jet.’
However, after teaming up with an undercover CIA operative, Cunningham is confident of overcoming the enhanced threat posed by phishing scams. ‘With Agent Happy Longtime helping us, we’re sure to bust this hacker ring any day now. And when we’re through, he’s promised me a position earning $4,000 a week for only five hours work.’
