Dismay at opera star’s decision to sing in analogue
Audiences at last night’s performance of Tosca at London’s Opera House couldn’t believe their ears when international opera star Placido Domingo suddenly began to sing in analogue.
‘I, quite literally, have never heard anything like it,’ said opera lover Rupert Fawcett-Jones, ‘because I’ve only heard Placido on CD. When I realised he’d abandoned digital for analogue, I was dismayed because it sounded so yesterday.’
‘For Placido Domingo, this is a defining moment, as significant as when Dylan switched from acoustic guitar to electric,’ said one critic.
Although parts of the audience booed, others clapped and cheered. ‘Of course, clapping is digital,’ a tuxedoed man in the bar pointed out.
But insiders claim that Domingo is planning to use a semi-conductor at his next big concert.
