A survey by the AA of the UK’s most popular drivers has found that touring caravan drivers come out tops on all counts.
‘Those surveyed agreed that drivers who tow caravans are most likely to stick to the speed limit or way below it,’ said a spokesman for the AA. ‘They were also deemed the most friendly as they like to travel together in large convoys and enjoy the passing countryside.’
‘I’m chuffed to be at the top of the list,’ said Bert Cadwallader, the owner of an Elddis 4 Berth Crusader. ‘My wife Elsie and I find that BMW drivers are the next friendliest as they’ll sit behind us for miles waving and flashing just to let us know they are enjoying the journey.’
According to the survey the next most popular drivers on Britain’s roads are white Ford transit van drivers who are renowned for their ‘courtesy and patience.’
