All playing fields to be levelled to give them a level playing field
In an effort to increase equality and fairness, the government has announced that all playing fields in the UK must be level, so that they have a level playing field. ‘In order to compete, we must have a level playing field, a spokesman said. ‘And that applies to playing fields too.’
‘All playing fields must be level so that we have a level playing field, otherwise if not all playing fields are level, we won’t have a level playing field,’ he continued. ‘So with all playing fields level we will have a level playing field of playing fields.’
Opposition MPs have however criticised the move, accusing the government of ‘not being on the level’ – a claim that has surprised many equality campaigners. ‘I never thought Labour would level such charges – this has really come out of left field.’
