Confused technophobe spends afternoon phoning lost slippers

A 49-year-old woman, from Wantage, who’s had the same Motorola Razr flip-phone since 2004, has reportedly spent most of yesterday afternoon trying to locate her missing bedroom slippers by phoning them.

‘It always works with my mobile,’ she said, ‘and I got my slippers in 2007 so I just assumed they were more advanced.’

‘I rang a number listed under ‘s’ in my phonebook,’ said Amanda Pryce, ‘but it didn’t help at all. I just kept getting the sports and leisure centre. They got quite rude in the end, claiming they had no idea where they’d last seen my slippers.’

‘I’ve never been any good with technology.’ she added. ‘The only thing I use the internet for is The Archers catch-up.’

When it was explained to her that you can’t phone everything you lose in order to find it, as this technique only works with mobile phones, a disappointed Ms Pryce commented, ‘Oh. I see. I suppose that’s why we never got the dog back then.’
