England’s cricketers insist ‘it’s the South Pole victory that matters’

England’s cricket team has dismissed its ten wicket defeat by Pakistan in Dubai by insisting that its recent two wicket victory at the South Pole over a surprised group of Chinese mineral prospectors is the match result that really matters.

‘If England think they are so bloody good at playing cricket at the South Pole,’ asked Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, ‘why don’t they challenge Norway to a match?’
