Women in England who wear glasses outstrip men with shaven heads for the first time since records began according to a report from Social Trends.
The report says that the huge increase in the last year of women who wear glasses is due to the belief among some women that wearing glasses is sexy and makes the wearer appear intelligent.
The latter belief is particularly prevalent among thick women.
Social Trends says that the number of men with shaven heads has remained static possibly due to their doubtful intelligence and low sperm count.
The report concludes that women who wear glasses hope to disprove the Dorothy Parker observation that ‘men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses’.
Sinead O’Connor sometimes wears glasses.
