Delivery driver incensed by ‘We opened the door but you were not there’ note
Fred Smith, a white van delivery driver, is still in shock after a failed attempt to dispatch to an address in Guildford yesterday. When he got to the house he found a note on the front of the property which read “We opened the door but you were not there. Please call the telephone number below to arrange an alternative time for us to open the door.”
“I rang the number,” said Fred, “and they suggested another day when they might open the door at some point between 8am and 5pm. Well, after I gave them a piece of my mind they said if I phoned again on the new delivery date they’d let me know if they would be opening the door in the morning or the afternoon.”
“What makes me so angry,” he continued, “is the attitude of these people. I mean, it’s not like I’m sat around on my arse all day just waiting to deliver a package.”
