Leper colony organises fundraiser for Samantha Brick
An African leper colony has put its money where its mouth was and pledged to come to the aid of stricken ‘beauty’, Samantha Brick. Hounded by people with a basic grasp of manners, Brick is condemned to a life in which she may never experience the thrill of opening a door for herself.
After reading of her plight in the Daily Mail, the colony, in the Sudanese town of Juba, realised that time was of the essence if Brick was to be saved from a fate worse than free wine and flowers. By collecting a number of venomous beetles, parasitic larvae and some meat infected with a face-eating virus, the colony hopes to save Brick from a lot of unwanted attention.
‘If our plan works out as well as we know it will from trials on our family and friends, Brick will soon find all these irritating admirers recoiling in horror,’ insisted the colony’s spokesperson. ‘When we saw the pictures of Samantha, showcasing her bingo wings in an ample kitchen, we felt so sorry for her. It must be awful, attracting a French husband.’
