Electronic polling booths to use predictive text algorithms
The Electoral Commission today has announced that from 2014 polling stations across the UK will start using ‘electronic’ polling booths. The May 2014 local elections will be the first to use the new technology, to help the electorate to cast their vote.
‘Plebiscites have never been more exiciting’ said Marcus Tullystock of the Electoral Commission – ‘what’s ever more exciting is that we are using mobile phone predictive text algorithms to help the befuddled common man in their selection of their candidate.’
‘Initial tests conducted in the North West, Mid Wales and Glasgow have been quite encouraging with Labradors, Plain camera’s and SN Pasties – all showing strong support’
