Greek ATMs start begging
In a move described by international monetary experts as predictable and ‘only a matter of time’, ATM machines belonging to Greek banks have started begging passers-by for money.
The machines have been reverse-programmed to only accept incoming banknotes, and slots for small change have been placed below pictures of hungry-looking little calculators.
Each ATM now boasts a doleful-eyed skinny dog tethered to a hook on the pavement below, and upon receiving each donation of money a tearful, recorded message says ‘Lord love ya, darlin’, you have a nice day now, yeah?’ in six languages, none of which is German.
