In a press conference, announcing his retirement from international cricket, Ricky Ponting has expressed his sadness at missing out on losing next year’s Ashes contest.
‘Losing the Ashes has been part of my life for nearly a decade now and I’m really going to miss it. When I watch the new captain grudgingly admitting that they’ve been outplayed, I’ll be thinking ‘that used to be me’.’ lamented the beady-eyed Australian batsman.
‘I guess I’m just going to have to find some other way to oversee humiliating losses against the poms.’ he continued. ‘Possibly by becoming president of the Australian Olympic Committee.’
