Tony Norris from Stockport, a keen amateur chef and by day a senior trading standards officer, has expressed his delight at the prospect of using the space for all 12 place settings in his new dishwasher, as he will be joined by 11 members of his close family on Christmas Day.
‘I bought the 12 place setting model especially for the big day, and I’m sure it will comfortably accommodate all the pots, pans, plates, glasses and cutlery when we have finished our three course Christmas lunch’ said an excited Norris. ‘And I’m expecting there to be just enough space left to squeeze in the dog’s bowls as well.’
Initially Norris was sceptical about the advertised capacity. ‘I’m sure my old dishwasher was a 12 place settings model as well, but I had to run it four times last Christmas Day even though there were just the four of us, but I was probably mistaken and must have inadvertently bought a one-place setting model.’
